    The number that matters most for a heating buyer is what happens at 5°F, not the 47°F nameplate. A standard unit loses a third or more of its capacity by 5°F. NEEP’s own capacity table lists the Aurora’s max heating output at 5°F at 13,500 BTU, the same figure AHRI rates it at 47°F[2][3]. The Aurora’s NEEP entry shows no loss at all at that point.

    Two figures are not published anywhere Daikin makes public: capacity at -22°F, and an indoor-unit-specific circuit ampacity separate from the 14.6A/15A system figure above[4]. Buyers who need a heating floor colder than what NEEP publishes should ask a Daikin dealer for the -22°F cell directly, rather than assume it from the 5°F number.

    Will the Aurora keep up when it’s below zero outside?

    Down to 5°F, yes, per NEEP’s own capacity table[3]. Below that, the Aurora’s published floor is -13°F, and NEEP does not publish a cell between the two points.

    That -13°F floor is shallower than the Senville Aura’s -22°F rating. The gap matters for a design temperature colder than the Upper Midwest or the Rockies.

    Size from the 5°F column in the sizing calculator against your actual heat load, not from the 13,500 BTU nameplate alone.     A Daikin Aurora install is a standard flare-and-vacuum split-system job. It needs a wall bracket for the indoor head, a pad for the outdoor unit, the line set routed through a sleeved wall penetration, a condensate drain, and the 208/230V circuit above.
